Reading Rocks Club Gifts Redemption Day

Reading Rocks Club ( RRC ) is an initiative spearheaded by Kumpulan Sokongan Ibubapa ( KSIB ) Year 4 with the collaboration from Centre of Advancement of Language Competence ( CALC ) , Universiti Putra Malaysia with the main aim to create a culture of readers among the children. It is also supported by the English Panel of SK Seri Bintang Utara and the Parents & Teachers Association.

The objectives of the program are :

* To ' birth ' readers 

* To sustain children's reading habits 

* To improve children's English proficiency 

RRC Programmes :

1. Weekly 30-minute period in timetable inclusive for RRC

2. Guided reading by CALC , UPM lecturers and senior pupils 

3. Worksheet completion after reading session 

4. Reading stamps collection 

5. Gifts redemption 

6. Spell-it-right challenge

7. RRC Readers Camp
